5 Activities That Will Turn an Ordinary Sunday Evening into Something Unforgettable (Our Favorite Is #3)

so, we’ve all been there. it’s 7pm on a sunday, the “sunday scaries” are
starting to hit, and you and your partner are just... sitting there. staring at
the netflix home screen for forty minutes because you can’t decide on a movie.
honestly, it’s kind of depressing lol.
my boyfriend and i used to do this every. single. week. until we decided to
actually try and do something different. and let me tell you, it completely
changed the vibe of our house. we went from being “roommates who share a bed” to
actually having fun again.
here are 5 things we’ve been doing lately to actually make sunday evenings not
suck. (and yeah, #3 is the one that basically saved our relationship, ngl.)
1. The "Ingredients Only" Chopped Challenge
okay, this is chaotic but so fun. we go to the pantry, pick three random things
that definitely don’t belong together (last time it was chickpeas, honey, and
sriracha), and we have 20 minutes to make a snack out of them. it usually
tastes… questionable. but the sheer panic of trying to cook something fast
while laughing our heads off? elite.
2. A 10-Minute PowerPoint Night
this sounds nerdy but hear me out. we each spend 10 minutes (set a timer!!)
making a slide deck on our phones about something ridiculous. my last one was
"ranking my boyfriend's hoodies by how much i enjoy stealing them." it’s stupid,
low effort, and makes for the best inside jokes.
3. The "Couple Games" App (Seriously, Get This)
okay, this is the one i was talking about. i saw an ad for this app called
"Couple Games" and i thought it was gonna be super cringe, but we actually tried
it last week and i’m obsessed.
it basically gives you all these different categories—like "truth or dare,"
"deep talks," and even some spicy stuff if you’re feeling it. we ended up
staying up until like 1am just answering these crazy questions and doing silly
dares. it totally bypassed that awkward "so... what do you want to talk about?"
phase. it’s way better than just scrolling tiktok next to each other.
if you’re bored, just download it here (Get free access through this link)—it’s a total game changer for real.
4. The Nostalgia Deep Dive
we spent like two hours last sunday just pulling up old youtube music videos
from when we were in middle school. we made a playlist of all the emo songs we
used to cry to. it sounds small, but you learn so much about someone based on
what their "vibe" was in 2012. 10/10 would recommend.
5. Intentional "Phone Free" Fort Building
yes, we are grown adults and yes, we built a fort in the living room. we put all
the phones in the kitchen, grabbed every blanket we own, and just talked. no
distractions. it’s crazy how much you realize you miss your partner when you
aren't both half-watching a show or checking emails.
seriously though... don’t let your sunday night just disappear into another work
week. even if you just do one thing on this list (seriously, go download that
Couple Games app, thank me later), it makes such a difference.
stop scrolling and actually go have some fun with your person. you both deserve
it! :)
