5 Best Couple Games To Play (That Aren't Just Scrolling TikTok Together)

Is it just me, or does every "date night" lately just end up with both of us on
opposite ends of the couch, scrolling through memes in total silence? 💀
Honestly, my boyfriend and I got into this super boring rut a few months ago. We
love each other, obviously, but you can only talk about "how was your day" so
many times before you want to jump out a window. We needed something to actually
do that wasn't just another Netflix binge.
So, I went down a rabbit hole looking for the best couple games to actually make
us talk and, like, laugh again. We tried a bunch. Some were super cringe, but a
few were actually total game-changers.
If you’re looking to spice things up or just stop being bored, here are the 5
best ones we found.
1. Truth or Dare (The Classic)
Okay, I know what you’re thinking. "We aren't in middle school anymore." But
hear me out!! Truth or Dare as adults is lowkey the best way to get spicy or
just find out weird stuff you never knew.
The problem is usually that we’re both too lazy to think of good prompts. "Uh...
I dare you to... do the dishes?" Boring. You need the kind of dares that
actually push buttons or truths that make you go "Wait, you actually did that?!"
When you get a good list going, it literally changes the whole vibe of the
night.
2. Would You Rather
This is my personal favorite for when we’re grabbing drinks or stuck in traffic.
It starts off innocent, like "Would you rather always be 10 minutes late or 20
minutes early?" but it quickly devolves into these massive 30-minute debates
about whether a hotdog is a sandwich or if we’d rather fight 100 chicken-sized
zombies.
It’s just... fun? It takes the pressure off "serious" conversation and lets you
be weird together.
3. How Well Do You Know Me?
This one is dangerous, ngl. Proceed with caution. 😂
It’s basically a test to see if your partner has actually been paying attention
for the last year (or five). You ask stuff like "What’s my coffee order?" or
"Who was my first celebrity crush?"
It’s hilarious when they get it right, but honestly, it’s even funnier when they
confidently get it wrong. Just don’t take it too seriously if they forget your
third-grade teacher's name, okay?
4. Would We Survive?
This is a newer one we started playing and it’s basically a hypothetical
survival test. Like, if the world ended tomorrow, who’s in charge of the map?
Who’s the one who tries to pet a radioactive bear and gets us killed?
It’s basically a way to roast each other's survival skills. Turns out, I’m the
"scavenger" and he’s the "guy who dies in the first 10 minutes because he forgot
his inhaler." Good to know for the apocalypse.
5. Yes or No (Rapid Fire)
Sometimes you don’t want a whole long-winded thing. This is just rapid-fire
questions where you can only say Yes or No. No "maybe," no "it depends."
"Would you ever move to another country?" "Do you like my mom's cooking?"
(Risky!!) "Are you hungry right now?" (The answer is always yes).
It’s fast, it’s intense, and it gets you guys talking about stuff you’d normally
skip over.
How we actually play these...
Tbh, the biggest vibe-killer is trying to "find" questions on some messy website
with 500 pop-up ads while you’re trying to be romantic. It totally ruins the
mood.
After trying a million things, I found this app called "Couple Games" and it
literally has all five of these games (and way more) built into it.
Instead of me googling "questions for couples" and hitting a paywall or seeing
an ad for insurance, we just open the app, pick a category, and start. It’s got
everything from "cute and sweet" to "definitely-don’t-play-this-in-public."
If you’re tired of the "what do you want to do tonight?" "I don't know, you?"
loop... seriously, just download it. It saved our date nights, for real.
